Did you know there are several things to do before getting a massage that will help you not only get more out of your session, but also enjoy it more?
Think of your body as your best friend: if you prepare it well, it thanks you… and if you don’t, it definitely lets you know. Read on for tips!
You’ve probably heard this before, but it bears repeating: hydrating before your massage is essential. Good hydration helps maintain joint lubrication, supports your muscles, and keeps your body functioning optimally.

It’s also important to avoid heavy meals before your session. If you show up right after downing a huge plate of food, an XXL poke bowl, or even just that “one little burger,” your body will redirect energy toward digestion, which can make your massage feel less comfortable. But we all know life happens so if that’s the case, a short walk beforehand can help with digestion.
Wear comfortable clothing – this is your zen moment. The more relaxed you arrive, the faster your body will ease into spa mode.

After your massage, the wellness party continues. Drink water to help your body maintain internal balance and prolong the post-massage relief. A little gentle stretching (don’t worry, nothing “Olympic”!), keeps your muscles loose and happy. And if you can, take a few minutes post-massage to simply…rest. Your body will thank you with an internal “ahhhh” you didn’t even know you had.
Preparing before and taking care of yourself after your massage makes the entire experience much more powerful… and if you really want your body to applaud you, come experience it with us at Healing Hands Miami. We’re here to help you relax, reset, and walk out saying: “Why didn’t I come sooner?”
