We all know that we have limited time on this earth, and that the best goals we can set are to live intensely, enjoy what is given to us, and try to have the best lifestyle possible!

However, it’s human nature to occasionally lose sight of these goals and soon find ourselves trapped in a tangle of anxiety, stress and fear. If enough time goes by in this state, these stressful patterns can lead to a lowering of our immune system and a reduction in our quality of life. This is why it is so important to develop good lifestyle habits and stick to them.

The following three things may seem simple, but they are key to helping you live a healthier life:

drink water

  1. Drink Plenty of Water

Most of our body is made up of water, so maintaining a good state of hydration is essential to ensure proper organ function and appropriate blood volume, which will help the heart beat properly.

There are endless chemical reactions constantly taking place in the human body, and drinking enough water helps ensure their optimal function. If you feel occasional weakness, headaches, drowsiness and do not understand where it is coming from, one of the contributing factors could be dehydration and this is how the body lets you know.

Drink a glass of water within the first few minutes of waking up each morning. This will help all the functions of your body start the day in the best possible way. Also, be aware of the color of your urine, since that is a natural indicator of the state of hydration you have. The darker the color, the more water you need.

exercise

  1. Exercise Often

Your body is a finely calibrated machine and like any machine, it needs activity to function properly. Think of movement like adding oil to a squeaky hinge: regular movement and stretching helps ensure that our joints and muscles continue to function optimally.

Since the beginning of time, humans have moved, climbed, harvested, run, and hunted to maintain our survival. But over time, the luxuries of modern life have caused us to become more and more sedentary. People today spend most of their time either sitting in front of a computer screen or working long shifts requiring us to stand for long periods. We arrive home feeling tired and cranky, simply wanting to eat, sleep, and start the cycle over the next day. This is clearly counterproductive for body and mind.

Movement, stretching, and exercise is crucial to our wellbeing. Whether you choose to run, walk in the park, take a stroll with your baby, or attend a fitness class, know that the time spent is an investment in a healthy future.

relax the mind

  1. Relax the Mind

The mind plays a key role when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. A stressful job, having too many responsibilities, a toxic/stressful relationship, etc. can all be triggers that send the mind to a dark place.

Even if you are taking care of yourself physically, if you don’t “empty the trash” by clearing out toxic thoughts and worries, the rest of the body can’t fully do its job.

We recommend the following:

  • Guided meditations
  • Booking a relaxation massage
  • Listening to calming music
  • Laying down in a park and observing the nature around you
  • Reading your favorite book

Doing these 3 things are the foundation to help you live a healthier life!
