woman getting a massage

Have you ever walked into a spa and felt completely overwhelmed by the menu of massages? At Healing Hands, we offer an all-inclusive spa service with different therapies included at no additional cost. Our professional therapists will help you find what your body needs. However, it’s also good to know which therapy works best for your body. So don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Let’s explore some popular types of massages and help you find the perfect fit.

person getting their back massagedSwedish Massage
Starting with the classic, the Swedish massage is like the vanilla ice cream of massages – simple, but oh-so-satisfying. It uses long, smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on the topmost layers of muscles. It’s perfect for those who are new to massage or just want to relax and unwind.

Deep tissue massage

Deep Tissue Massage
If you’ve got some serious knots or chronic muscle tension, a deep tissue massage might be your best bet. This massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, using slower strokes and stronger pressure. It can be a bit intense, but the relief afterward is totally worth it. We are known for giving the best deep tissue massage in Miami! Check out our reviews here.

Hot stone massage

Hot Stone Massage
Imagine the warmth of smooth, heated stones placed on your back, melting away your stress. A hot stone massage is all about relaxation and comfort. The heat from the stones helps to loosen tight muscles and improve circulation. It’s perfect for those chilly days when you just want to be warm and cozy, or when you want to have the benefits of a deep tissue massage without all the pressure. At Healing Hands, we include around 10 minutes of hot stone work in each massage (at no extra cost!). Side note: one of HH founder Anastasia’s biggest pet peeves is how often hot stone massage is incorrectly portrayed online…scroll down to the end of this blog to see what we mean!

aromatherapy at Healing Hands Miami (lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint)

Aromatherapy Massage
If you love the power of scents, an aromatherapy massage is a lovely choice. Essential oils are used to enhance the massage, each with its own benefits. Whether you need to relax, energize, or uplift your mood, there’s an essential oil for that. At Healing Hands, we always start our massages by asking the clients to take several deep breaths of lavender…halfway through when we ask you to turn over, we use eucalyptus…and at the end, it’s peppermint to help wake you up!

lymphatic cuppingCupping
An ancient therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This technique helps with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, and overall well-being. At Healing Hands, we move the cups around the body’s lymphatic channels; this style of cupping is known as lymphatic cupping and it can help with lymphatic drainage.

therapeutic stretching

Therapeutic Stretching
Stretching has many benefits when combined with massage, such as improved flexibility, better range of motion, straighter posture, and improved circulation. At our spa, we have seen the benefits of massaging muscles not only when they are relaxed but also when they are passively engaged – meaning we may sometimes move your limbs into different positions and/or stretch them during your massage.

Next time you book a massage with us, think about what your body needs and give one of these techniques a try. Remember, at Healing Hands we specialize in the All-Inclusive Massage so there are never any upcharges. Happy relaxing!

P.S. Here is how hot stone massage is always – always! – portrayed online.  It blows our mind because it is never, ever, EVERRRR done this way.  By anyone.  Anywhere.  AT ALL. We would burn the client if we laid out a dozen hot stones on the back and just left them there! 😲 Go figure…

NOT how hot stone massages are done, EVER!
